Currently based in New York City, she has established herself as a force to be reckoned with.

Mariama's unwavering commitment to economic empowerment, dignity, and environmental sustainability within the African fashion industry is evident through her numerous ventures. She is the driving force behind Mariama Fashion Production (MFP), a leading company specializing in African handmade sustainable textiles and accessories. Under her own eponymous brand, MARIAMA CAMARA, she continues to create designs that embody the essence of sustainability.

Not stopping at fashion, Mariama Camara has taken her passion a step further by opening KANAFRIK, Africa's pioneering chain of sustainable stores. These establishments showcase natural food and beauty products, celebrating the bountiful resources of the continent.

Beyond her entrepreneurial endeavors, Mariama is a dedicated activist and captivating public speaker. Her advocacy for women, girls, and artisan rights has garnered international recognition. She has graced esteemed platforms like the Oslo Freedom Forum, TEDx Talk, African Union Heads of State conference, and the United Nations, using her voice to effect positive change. In her pursuit of empowering and amplifying social activists, she founded RAW REAL TALKS, a global platform for thought-provoking discussions.

Mariama's groundbreaking work has earned her widespread acclaim, with leading media outlets and organizations shining a spotlight on her achievements. Notable features include CNN African Voice's "Changemakers," BBC News, TV5 Monde, and Forbes Africa.
